How to Turn on Autofill on iPhone

Autofill is a convenient feature on your iPhone that lets you fill in web forms without having to type in the information repeatedly. It’s also useful when you’re buying things online, as it can help speed up the process.

However, sometimes autofill can cause issues with logins or site access. This is due to outdated passwords being filled in automatically, so you’ll need to edit your iPhone’s settings if it’s failing to work.

1. Open the Settings app

In iOS 12 and later, iPhones can use your contact information to automatically fill passwords when visiting websites and apps. This is a great way to save time and reduce the risk of entering incorrect details. But if you’re not happy with this feature, there are several ways to change it.

You can open the Settings app by tapping its icon on your Home Screen, or using a search field to find it. You can also access the Settings app by swiping down from the top of your Home Screen or Lock Screen.

Another way to open the Settings app is by accessing the App Library and typing “settings” in the search field at the top of the page. Alternatively, you can launch the app from the Spotlight Search field.

If you have trouble finding the Settings app, it could be because it has moved to a different folder on your Home Screen. Then, you can try moving it to the top of your list so that it will be easier to find.

The Settings app has a number of useful features, including a button that lets you set the default mail or browser app for when you tap links and email send buttons. That way, you can choose an app that you use regularly rather than Apple’s built-in Safari or Mail.

2. Tap Passwords & Accounts

Autofill is one of the best features of iOS as it helps you log in to websites and apps with just a few taps. It also saves your credentials and usernames on the device, which means you don’t have to type them again.

Apple stores your passwords on the iPhone using iCloud Keychain, which ensures that they are securely stored and synced across all of your devices. It also helps you access your saved information in the case of a lost or stolen device, avoiding wasting time searching through lost files and passwords.

To view your saved passwords on an iPhone, simply open the Settings app and tap Passwords & Accounts. This will display your passwords from various websites and apps, which you can edit or delete as necessary.

If you need to change the password of a particular website or application, simply tap on that entry in the Passwords list and follow the instructions displayed. This will allow you to edit the details of the website, username and password as well as delete it from the Keychain completely.

It’s important to remember that if you do change the password of any website or app, you should always remember to update the saved information on your iPhone as soon as possible to prevent future issues.

To use the password autofill feature on an iPhone, just turn it on in Settings – Passwords & Accounts. It also requires you to select your iCloud Keychain, which will help you secure your passwords and usernames on all of your devices.

3. Tap Autofill

Autofill is a great way to save time when you’re signing in to websites and apps on an iPhone. It uses iCloud Keychain to fill in passwords and credit cards for you, saving you the trouble of remembering multiple passcodes.

When you turn on Autofill, your phone will automatically fill in information like name, address, email addresses, and credit cards when you fill out forms on websites that support the feature. You can also edit this information and add new credit cards to the AutoFill list.

If you’d rather not have Safari fill in your contact info automatically, you can turn off this feature in Settings > Safari. Just tap the switch next to “Contact Info” to toggle it off.

You can also update the details for your personal contact cards in the Contacts app. This will refresh the information that Safari autofills when you fill out online forms.

Similarly, you can also add new credit or debit cards to your AutoFill payment details. When you do, be sure to include the cardholder name, number, expiration date, and description.

4. Tap Saved Credit Cards

If you frequently make purchases online, AutoFill can be a real time saver. It lets you fill in credit card information in Safari without having to type it in each time you make a purchase.

However, if you find that Safari’s autofill feature is taking up too much of your time and you no longer want to have it on, you can disable the feature. Similarly, you can also remove saved credit cards that you no longer need in Safari.

First, open the Settings app and tap on Safari. From the General menu, you can then tap AutoFill and toggle the Credit Card toggle to Off.

After that, you can then access your saved credit cards by using Touch ID or entering a passcode.

The credit card information will be displayed on the screen and you can then edit or delete them as needed.

5. Tap Edit

Autofill is a feature that helps you fill out online forms and websites without needing to enter your credentials manually. This is a great feature for those who often use the same email address or phone number on a variety of sites and need to fill out their information quickly and accurately.

You can turn on autofill by tapping Edit in the Settings app and then adding your contact information or other personal information to the list. Once you have the information added, Safari will automatically fill out your name, email address, phone number and physical address when you go to fill out a form on a website.

However, the downside of autofill is that it stores your login details on your device. This means that anyone with access to your device can view the information you have saved in Autofill and fill in forms on other websites.

If you don’t want to save your username and password for Autofill, you can remove them by tapping the Edit button in the Passwords & Accounts section of the Settings app and then selecting the Remove button next to each username or password you want to delete.

Finally, if you have saved a credit card in your iPhone’s AutoFill list, you can update the card’s information by going to Settings > Safari and then selecting Saved Credit Cards from the menu. You can also add a new credit card in this section of the settings by entering the information or scanning it with your iPhone’s camera.
